In 1978 VIKTOR became enthusiastically involved with the concept of time.
He believed it was time to challenge the way we commonly perceive and understand time.
The orignal wall clock has been sold out for decades.
The wall clock - sold in our Artshop - is a copy of VIKTOR's original clock – with updated high quality clock work. All clocks are numbered and sold with a limited edition certificate.
Logbook pages
After four energetic years and close to 600 paintings on heavy driftwood behind him, VIKTOR turned to paper so he could express more in words. He recorded his daily rutines and impressions of the world around him. Often simple stories with a wise man’s comments on his elementary existence.
His handwriting is often intentionally difficult to read, whith sentences almost crossed out and messages fading into the artwork. The comments always express his genuinely positive attitude.
Art
In 1964 – at the age of 35 – VIKTOR found his ”Raison d’etre” and began a prolific flow of very personal work.
He had found a way of expressing himself, painting on old ship hatches – driftwood collected in the Amsterdam harbor.
He named his works ikons – the Greek word for picture
